The The Western Mass Baseball Umpires Association was founded on April 10, 1950. The purpose of the Association is to provide qualified umpires for all youth, scholastic and amateur baseball in Hampden County, Massachusetts. We instruct and assist all umpires in the knowledge of the game, develop and continue the high ideals of sportsmanship which have been the fundamental principles of the game, and promote/protect the mutual interests of the Association to develop a greater cooperation and sense of fellowship among its members. The WMBUA prides itself on providing competent, knowledgeable, qualified individuals to administer the rules of baseball in a fair and impartial manner thereby instilling confidence in the integrity of the game by the general public and all players, coaches and league and/or school administrators. We foster the advancement of baseball as a sport for the development of character, good sportsmanship, citizenship and wholesome recreation.
